DELOAD IS NOT A DIRTY WORD

Backing off on schedule is discipline, not weakness.

Somewhere along the line, resting became a confession. Take a light week and you owe someone an explanation. That is backwards.

A deload is not a break from the program. It is the program. Load, recover, adapt. Remove the middle step and the third one never arrives — you just accumulate fatigue and call it effort.

Skipping recovery to look committed is the same error as skipping sessions to feel comfortable. Both put feelings ahead of the plan. Discipline is doing what the plan says, especially when the plan says less.

The bear does not apologise for hibernation. It conserves, rebuilds, and comes back stronger from the inside out. When the time comes, the bear moves. That is the model.

Schedule the deload. Take it seriously. Lift less this week so the numbers move next month. Recovery is prescribed — take the full course.
